It's fun getting her up from a nap because she is strong enough to look above her bumper to peak at us when she hears the door open. We are greeted by her tuft of hair on the back of her head and brown eyes peering above the green mesh bumper. She is usually on her stomach, head up and arches her back to get her feet up off the mattress. Looks like a backwards pretzel or also known as a severe cobra pose for those that know yoga poses. Wish I was that limber but never have been and never will be. She has also learned to smack her lips. I've thought that she looks like a puckered little apple but she really does when she positions her lips and pops them open and closed.
Aubrey on the other hand...negotiation queen. She tried to convince Scott a cookie was in order after breakfast this morning. She looked at the counter where the cookies are kept and said something to the effect of "Cookie. Say please." When Scott told her no, she tried to bargain.
"Eat one bite of egg. Then one cookie."
To her credit she wasn't completely crestfallen when she was told no. It never hurts to ask right? Then later in the day after one bite of lunch, all whiny and tired from swim lessons, Aubrey tried again. Scott took her upstairs for the afternoon nap. After reading a few books Scott laid her down in the crib for her songs but she was whining at him. He asked her if she wanted a song.
"No."
He asked her if she wanted Elmo.
"No."
He asked her if she wanted her blanket.
"No."
He turned to leave and she tried bargaining..."Go downstairs. Eat lunch." "Go downstairs. See mommy and Zoe."
She may have a future career.....as a police negotiator? Or mediator?
