Full time careers

Z will be a stunt double. She has more scrapes and bruises than I can count. Today she tested our theory that kids can bounce off the recycled tire mulch. (If you haven't heard of this stuff, I highly recommend it! It is bouncy and doesn't heat up too much in the Phoenix summer).  She stood up on the slide and nose dived off the side of it. Face planted in the mulch. With a tiny bounce. But she now has road rash (hahaha, get it?) on her face. Then repeated the experience.  Including the road rash.

She also has migrated from flopping (full body falls) onto the dog bed to testing out different surfaces. Including tile floor.  The clunk of her head on the floor is not a fun sound.

Or maybe she will be a circus performer. Because I keep finding the toilet paper unwound and pulled through half of the house.  Anal though I may be, I can't seem to rewind it back up quite as tidily as it was.  But at least she gives fair warning before she pulls the roll...she makes her guttural noise in the back of her throat (her blowing nose noise) so as long as one is listening you can sometimes circumvent the redecoration.

A on the other hand, will be a hostage negotiator.  We have been working on the potty training. What that means: we are prepping her for when Scott will be home for the summer and we go cold turkey on the diapers.  The decision was made after she told me that she couldn't possibly go pee on the potty when she had a diaper on.  It wasn't quite worded that way but that was darn well what she meant.

Her perfecting of the negotiation skills hit a high mark when she tried to tell Scott how cool one of her prizes was (Guido from the Cars movie). When he remarked it was, she told him, "All you have to do is go pee and then you can play with him!"
