Monkees

Going to Montana was awesome getting to see family. It's amazing how fast time flies...and how quickly little cousins can grow up. It's weird how you can feel like you just left the area, how much it is the same and yet how quickly the place has expanded. I love that a lot of my family is on facebook so I can keep in touch better and see more pictures. It motivates me to visit more regularly...especially now that we have the girls.

When we went this last time I wanted to take a four generational picture. One of the blogs I read, The Sphor's are Multiplying, had written about the time her family had taken a four generational picture and it reminded me of the grainy picture my mother has of me with her family in a four generational picture. After some schedule wrestling my mother was able to come up to Montana and after several (over a 100!) picture attempts we have something decent. I do have a series in a row that is hilarious. You can see Zoe looking at my mom. You can see the gears turning in her cute bow adorned head as she reaches out and goes for my mom's glasses....

Tonight we had some friends with babies over. Entertainment galore. But the best moment came when one of the sippy cups ended up in the bucket swing. The two year and eighteen month old knew it was there. Both of them on their tippy toes trying in vain to reach up and over the sides of the seat. Then stopping to look from the front through the leg holes to see their fondest desire so close and yet so far. They would squeal in frustration and look at us with those big beseeching eyes. They reminded me of the monkees at the zoo trying to figure out a puzzle box.
